Sun Hung Kai Properties : SHKP named a top three donor of The Community Chest of Hong Kong for sixth straight year

Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP) believes in 'Building Homes with Heart' and takes its social responsibilities seriously. To this end, the Group supports charitable causes, caring initiatives for the community as well as helping the underprivileged. The Community Chest of Hong Kong (the Chest) named SHKP one of the top three donors for the sixth year running and gave it a President's Award as well as Award of Merit at the recent 2017/18 presentation ceremony in recognition of its efforts and contributions to society.

SHKP is also committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and exercising for good. The Group encourages its staff, business partners and stakeholders to take part in different charitable causes. The Group raises funds as well as donates on behalf of participants for the benefit of local child and youth services by staging the annual SHKP Vertical Run for Charity - Race to Hong Kong ICC and by taking up the title and charity sponsor of the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon. To date, eighteen programmes have benefited from these signature events. Through the Chest, the latest projects receiving subsidies include Stewards' 'Youth Outlook - Youth Mental Health Service' which supports mentally or emotionally troubled teenagers, St. James' Settlement's 'Grow Goal Glow' Life Planning Creator which equips tertiary students with a better understanding of the workplace and help boosting their confidence to carve out future careers, as well as Heep Hong Society's 'A Holistic Employment Support Scheme' which offers employment support to high-functioning adults with autism spectrum disorder.

SHKP is also a staunch supporter of the Chest's annual fundraisers such as the Corporate Challenge, Green Day, Love Teeth Day and Dress Casual Day to help give back to the community. With the same charitable spirit, SUNeVision, which became listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong earlier this year, also made a HK$1,000,000 donation to the Chest through the Stock Code Balloting for Charity Scheme.
