The accolades include three golds for Grand YOHO, Peak One and Shouson Peak in the Large-scale, Medium-scale and Small-scale Domestic Property categories respectively. These honours represent a further testament to the outstanding performance of Kai Shing and Hong Yip in their environmental upgrade efforts as well as promotion of green living.

Gold winner Grand YOHO integrates modern architecture with a natural environment

Managed by Kai Shing, Grand YOHO in Yuen Long won gold in the Large-scale Domestic Property (properties below 6 years of age) category. This development features clean lines and incorporates concepts of modern architecture and a natural environment. With over 62,300 square feet of green space, Grand YOHO has more than 100 species of plants surrounded by lively aesthetic sculptures, providing a pleasant respite for residents from the hectic pace of the nearby neighborhood.

The management team of Grand YOHO attaches great importance to the proper maintenance of its landscaped area. The team works closely with horticultural specialists to formulate and execute a daily maintenance plan so that residents can always appreciate the distinctive landscaping features of the development. Horticultural specialists would regularly change the seasonal flowers displayed at Grand YOHO, adding vibrancy to a garden ablaze with colour and putting the concept of 'YOHO - Young Home' into practice. Grand YOHO also provides a leisure farm for residents to experience the joys of planting, with specialists sharing their professional knowledge and experience to boost residents' passion for green living.

Gold winner Peak One features a multicoloured garden

Royal Elite Service Co. Ltd, an associate of Hong Yip, is committed to promoting green property management and elevating its overall performance in energy conservation and landscaping. Peak One, a development managed by the company, received a gold award in the Medium-scale Domestic Property (properties between 6 and 21 years of age) category for its distinctive landscaping arrangement and design. Their property management team embellished the estate with a variety of carefully selected plants in multiple colours, each intricately pruned to create a relaxing and fascinating garden vista. The landscaped area boasts a 12,000-square-foot green vertical wall, creating a sense of three-dimensionality. Other features include the 20,000-square-foot Maestro Garden and a floral display with a chessboard pattern. The management team adheres firmly to its maintenance procedures for weed clearing, planting of seedlings, repairs of flower beds and hedges, plus decorating with festive plants and much more.

Peak One also spares no effort to protect the environment. They regularly participate in the government's food waste recycling scheme to turn leftovers into fertilizer for its garden, reinforcing a commitment to eco-friendly landscaping and environmental conservation.

Gold award to Shouson Peak for sustainable landscape management

Shouson Peak won gold in the Small-scale Domestic Property (properties between 6 and 21 years of age) category. Managed by Supreme Management Services Limited, an associate of Kai Shing, Shouson Peak has extensive garden landscaping with greenery coverage of 25%. Its landscaping design emanates a strong presence of nature, offering 60 species of flowers or other plants such as Banthoxylum piperitum, Buxus harlandii and Bougainvillea glabra 'variegata'. Residents can put their minds at ease when unwinding in this floral wonderland. A professional landscaping team in the estate's customer service office regularly prunes the plants and changes the estate's seasonal and festive flower displays, adding a delightful splash of colour while spreading festive cheer among residents.

As part of its efforts to enhance ecological development, Shouson Peak has demonstrated a high level of sustainability in estate maintenance. Their dedicated measures include cultivating more local plants, installing large rainwater collectors and drafting an irrigation schedule plus collecting leaves for composting. Shouson Peak also organizes small-scale guided tours for new residents, providing tips on gardening and floral maintenance. These initiatives are meant to create a pleasant environment for residents to appreciate the estate's landscape gardening excellence.

A major industry event to appreciate top landscaping design and maintenance

The biennial Best Landscape Award is a major industry event organized by LCSD and co-organized by Home Affairs Department and six professional bodies, namely The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects, Institute of Horticulture (Hong Kong), The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Professional Green Building Council and The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies. It gives recognitions to developments that excel in landscaping design and horticultural maintenance. The contest is aimed at encouraging private bodies to incorporate more quality green elements in the planning and management of their horticultural efforts, which will contribute to a continuous environmental improvement and the promotion of greening. The entries were assessed on visual and landscaping quality, level of improvement to the overall landscape as well as user involvement.
