Sunrise Communications : has the best geographic 4G coverage

New standards for the entire industry

At the end of 2016, Sunrise provided 4G coverage across 90% of Switzerland and for 99.4% of the Swiss population. This year, it's been breaking records by setting new mobile communication standards in the connect Network Test 2017. Sunrise has now expanded this leadership position even further by achieving 94.3% 4G coverage, the best in Switzerland. Furthermore, Sunrise is taking the country's mobile broadband coverage to an even higher level.

Fiber-optic speed via the mobile phone network

Sunrise is not only expanding its geographic coverage, it is also working throughout the year to continuously increase 4G capacities and speeds. At up to 900 Mbit/s (4G+), the speeds offered in Switzerland's five largest cities have already matched those available through fiber optics. These ongoing, high-level improvements to the best mobile phone network have not gone unnoticed by customers. As the fastest and best mobile network, Sunrise has been able to obtain the highest ratings in numerous comparison tests and surveys (including the Ookla Speedtest, OpenSignal country report, and BILANZ Telecom Rating 2017)

VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling

The launch of VoLTE this summer marked yet another improvement in network coverage for mobile calling. Connection quality - which was already among the world's best - improved even further, the dropped call rate has fallen to nearly zero, and VoLTE has significantly reduced call setup time, to around one second. These results are all way ahead of the competition.

With the launch of Wi-Fi Calling, calls can now be made to compatible mobile phones through any Wi-Fi hotspot. Wi-Fi Calling also offers better reception inside buildings and rooms that lack adequate mobile network coverage due to their location or construction.
