SBC as a central node

Session border controllers (SBC) provide the interface between Sunrise and its enterprise customers. They are the key link between the customer's Voice-over-IP (VoIP) network and SIP trunk services, which extend telephony services beyond the organization's firewall (for example, directing calls to any internal phones or other devices with an extension number) in a single account. The SBC establishes, controls and terminates the connection via Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), manages the communication between the various media types, and secures the VoIP network.
