ATLANTA (Nov. 18, 2015) - SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) introduced a new suite of credit cards with enhanced rewards and cash bonuses for clients. The new SunTrust Cash Rewards, SunTrust Travel Rewards, and SunTrust Prime Rewards credit cards also help clients build financial confidence with features like free access to FICO® Scores.

'Using a SunTrust rewards credit card is an excellent way to maximize your spending power by earning more perks on everyday purchases,' said Mark Ford, head of Bankcard for SunTrust. 'Our new cards were especially designed to provide clients who have deposit relationships with SunTrust an opportunity to maximize those rewards and reach their goals even faster.'

The new card suite consists of:

  • SunTrust Cash Rewards card: 5 percent cash back on gas and grocery qualifying purchases made during the first year (up to $6,000 spent); unlimited 2 percent cash back on gas and grocery qualifying purchases (after the first year or first $6,000 spent, whichever comes first) and 1 percent on all other qualifying purchases.

  • SunTrust Travel Rewards card: 5 percent cash back on eligible travel qualifying purchases including airfare, hotels and car rentals in first year (up to $6,000 spent); unlimited 3 percent cash back on travel (after the first year or first $6,000 spent, whichever comes first); 1 percent cash back on all other qualifying purchases; and up to $100 statement credit for TSA Precheck or Global Entry application fees every five years.

  • SunTrust Prime Rewards card: unlimited 1 percent cash back; savings on balance transfers made in first 60 days after account opening.

All of the new SunTrust cards offer a cash-back bonus when rewards are redeemed into a SunTrust deposit account - either 10 percent, 25 percent, or more, depending on the client's deposit relationship with SunTrust.

Another feature of the cards is chip technology which provides greater international acceptance and additional security against fraud. All SunTrust consumer primary credit cardholders have free access to FICO® Scores, updated monthly and available through online access.

'Credit cards also make it easier to track one's spending,' said Ford. 'Using the SunTrust mobile app, clients can check their transaction history to protect against fraud and ensure their spending stays on track.'
