ATLANTA, Oct. 10, 2017/PRNewswire / -- The SunTrust Foundation announced today it has committed $220,000 in support of Hurricane Irma disaster relief efforts, with grants directed to nonprofit organizations in Floridawho continue to assist individuals and businesses recovering from the storm's aftermath. Previously, the SunTrust Foundation donated $250,000to the American Red Cross to aid first-responders in immediate Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
'The SunTrust Foundation is proud to assist these 12 organizations who are working diligently throughout Floridato help people and businesses re-build after the impact of Hurricane Irma,' said David Fuller, president of the SunTrust Foundation. 'We remain committed to our Floridacommunities and hope these grants provide assistance to those who need it most.'

The $220,000will be dispersed among the following organizations:

  • Prospera, statewide in Florida
  • Second Harvest Food Bank, Central Florida
  • Space Coast SCORE, Brevard County
  • United Way of Brevard Hurricane Relief Fund, Brevard County
  • North Central Florida SCORE, Volusia & Flagler Counties
  • United Way of Volusia & Flagler Hurricane IRMA Disaster Relief Fund, Volusia & Flagler Counties
  • United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties Hurricane Relief Fund, Lake & Sumter Counties
  • United Way of Lee County, Fort Myers, Lee County
  • The Community Foundation of Collier County- Collier Comes Together, Naples, Collier County
  • The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay- Tampa Bay Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, Tampa Bayand surrounding counties
  • United Way of Miami-Dade, Miami-Dade County
  • United Way of Broward County, Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County
