Meetings

City of Eden Prairie - The city of Eden Prairie has several upcoming meetings scheduled. These include a Planning Commission meetings at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. Meetings are at Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road, unless otherwise indicated. Updates to meeting information and specific room assignments are available at www.edenprairie.org.

Eden Prairie School Board - The board's upcoming meetings include a regular business meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, to be immediately followed by another workshop.

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon - The group "is a comprehensive program that creates awareness for the purpose of connecting service members and their families with community support, training, services and resources." Eden Prairie is a Yellow Ribbon community. Civil Air Patrol - The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Viking Squadron offers a cadet aerospace education program for youth ages 12 to 21 years. Senior officer members are age 21 and older. Viking Squadron covers the southwestern portions of the Twin Cities area and meets most Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, 9301 Eden Prairie Road. For more information contact Maj. Eden Prairie Lions - The Eden Prairie Lions Club is one of the city's oldest service organizations. "We enjoy genuine fellowship and a great sense of accomplishment with our fundraising projects," according to a news release. Those interested in learning more, are invited to join the group for dinner on the first or third Mondays of each month. Dinner is $16. Cash bar. Guest speakers include community leaders, radio and TV personalities, law enforcement, outdoorsmen, authors and more. Meetings are at Camp Eden Wood, 6350 Indian Chief Road, Eden Prairie at 6 p.m. for social time, dinner and the speaker/meeting. Eden Prairie MOMS Club - Are you interested in meeting other Eden Prairie moms to do activities with your children during the weekdays? If so, email [email protected] or visit the Meetup group "MOMS Club of Eden Prairie" for more information. The group schedules park days, playgroups, kid-friendly potlucks, kids crafts, trips to the zoo and other attractions, and much more throughout the year.

EP Women of Today - EPWT meetings are usually at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month in the Star Bank community room, 250 Prairie Center Drive. Eden Prairie Lioness - The Eden Prairie Lioness Club is a volunteer organization of civic-minded women representing a cross-section of the community. Bereaved Parents Group - The Bereaved Parents group is for parents of babies who have died to stillbirth or neonatal loss, regardless of how long ago the loss occurred. Pregnancy After Loss - The Pregnancy After Loss group is for parents who are in a pregnancy following stillbirth or neonatal loss and will meet at Southdale Library, 7001 York Ave. S., Edina, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the first and third Mondays of the month. Grandparents, Extended Family and Friends - The Grandparents and Extended Family group is for those that are grieving the loss of a child to stillbirth or neonatal loss and at the same time want to know how to best support the parents of the baby. The group will meet monthly from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month at Southdale Library, 7001 York Ave. S., Edina. Support Group for Families - NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. A family support group meets in Eden Prairie on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Drive. Info: Carol, 952-426-0343.

Caregiver Support Group - Allows caregivers to support one another through discussion and information gathering from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at Prairie Adult Care's new location, 1252 Park Road, Chanhassen (in Bethel Fellowship Church). Meetings are open to anyone caring for an adult with physical or memory loss and facilitated by qualified persons from Prairie Adult Care Inc. and Senior Outreach. Memory Loss Support Group - Addresses issues related to memory loss from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Prairie Adult Care's new location, 1252 Park Road, Chanhassen (in Bethel Fellowship Church). Concurrent support groups meet for caregivers and the person with memory loss. It is endorsed by the Minnesota-North Dakota Alzheimer's Association and facilitated by professionals trained in dementia care from Senior Outreach and Prairie Adult Care Inc. Meals on Wheels - The Bloomington/Eden Prairie Meals on Wheels delivers weekday, noontime, nutritionally balanced meals to residents of Bloomington and Eden Prairie who are unable to leave their homes. Parkinson's Support - Offered for persons with Parkinson's or related disorders or their caregivers from 1:30 to 3 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month at Prairie Adult Care's new location, 1252 Park Road, Chanhassen (in Bethel Fellowship Church). Members offer emotional support and tips on coping with the disease. Experts in Parkinson's research and care present informational sessions. It is endorsed by the American Parkinson's Disease Association and facilitated by professionals trained in Parkinson's Disease from Prairie Adult Care Inc.
