Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Hearing

Sweett Group plc (AIM CSG.L), the construction and property consultancy, announces the outcome of a disciplinary panel held by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors ('RICS') on 17 August 2016.

The panel found that Sweett Group 'did not at all times act with integrity and/or avoid any actions or situations that were inconsistent with its professional obligations in that on 18 December 2015 it was convicted of an offence under the Bribery Act 2010 in respect of a failure to prevent an associate from bribing another person with the intention of retaining business for the firm'.

The panel imposed a fine of £125,000, ordered to pay costs of £4,590 and is subject to some ongoing reporting obligations. The Group is currently considering whether to appeal.
