Swiss Prime Site sponsors 18th national mini company competition
  • Promoting youth initiatives seen as a key social responsibility
  • Awards go to best mini companies in several categories
  • Swiss Prime Site Marketing & Sales Award goes to Fruitgetable Bag Promoting youth initiatives seen as a key social responsibility

As part of its endeavours to fulfil its social responsibilities, Swiss Prime Site supports a number of organisations, thus making a significant contribution towards the maintenance of diversity in business, culture, sport and society at large. It was in this context that the company decided to become a lead sponsor in the Company Programme operated by Young Enterprise Switzerland (YES). YES is a non-profit organisation engaged in developing economic education programmes for school students aged between 16 and 20. The objective is to foster links between schools and the business world. To that end, school students establish a mini company based on a business idea of their own. During the next year, they then endeavour to position their company in the market.

Awards go to best mini companies in several categories

During the latest Company Programme, more than 200 mini companies were established. In March 2017, YES announced its choice of the top 50 among these. The selection was made on the basis of the companies' performance at the regional trade fair and the quality of the business plans they submitted. In the spring of 2017, the top 25 teams were chosen at the national trade fair. Each of these is now eligible to attain the title of Company of the Year 2017. At the final event, held at Zurich's main railway station, an expert jury awarded the first prize to the mini company SmartBottle (www.smartbottle.ch). This decision was based not only on SmartBottle's business idea, but also on its stage presentation, its annual report and its performance when interviewed about these elements. Having now been voted the number one mini company in Switzerland, SmartBottle has also qualified for the European final in Brussels.

Swiss Prime Site Marketing & Sales Award goes to Fruitgetable Bag

As a lead sponsor, Swiss Prime Site was accorded the honour of presenting the award in the Best Marketing & Sales category. Thanks to the professionalism of its overall execution and the skill it showed in making its presentation, both during the live event and online, the mini company Fruitgetable Bag (www.fruitgetablebag.ch) was able to secure first prize in the marketing and sales category. As René Zahnd, Swiss Prime Site's CEO, explains «In addition to the clear evidence of ambition I saw in all the participants, what I found most impressive was the enormous progress that all the groups have achieved since the competition began. In the course of the various rounds, I saw reticent and sometimes somewhat shy school students develop into budding entrepreneurs who are now both self-confident and goal-oriented.»
