The PCHI Innovation Breakthrough Award 2015 went to SymRepair® 100 from Symrise - a highly effective skin barrier rebalancing complex. At the company booth at the PCHI trade show, visitors could discover solutions for sensitive and pollution-stressed skin, sun protection as well as skin brightening ingredients, and more. All products on display convinced with high relevance for the Asian markets.

Asian consumers have high expectations for valuable and effective cosmetic products. Ingredients for their cosmetics must respect local and regional peculiarities and convince with a high level of innovation. The PCHI Innovation Awards recognize products that effectively address requirements of Asian consumers. Products with the greatest potential to offer convincing and effective solutions are acknowledged by the Breakthrough Innovation Award.

At the Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHI) 2015 trade show, Symrise was honored with the Breakthrough Innovation Award for SymRepair® 100. The awards were presented during a festive ceremony in the Shanghai New International Expo Center on the first day of the PCHi.

With SymRepair® 100, Symrise has designed a biomimetic strategy to supplement the skin with its most essential restoring elements. The preservative-free oil synergistically combines the key lipid components of the skin's permeability barrier with the soothing benefits of Bisabolol. SymRepair® 100 quickly preserves and supports the functionality of the lamellar lipid bilayers that are essential for the barrier integrity, making it a suitable ingredient for sensitive and pollution-exposed skin.

Visitors could get in-depth information about SymRepair® 100 at the company's booth during the trade show. Symrise also presented further solutions for sensitive and pollution-stressed skin, sun protection as well as skin brightening ingredients, new ways to protect formulations and its comprehensive range of botanicals supporting concepts for cosmetic formulators. Thereby, the team concentrated on introducing ingredient innovations, such as SymSave® H and Hydrolite® 6 as preservative booster and Dragosine® as well as SymRelief® 100 as anti-pollution ingredient.

"We feel very honored that SymRepair® 100 won the PCHi Breakthrough Award at this year's PCHi trade show. The ingredient addresses one of the major topics in formulating cosmetics for the Asian markets," explains Chung Sin Wong, Vice President Symrise Cosmetic Ingredients Division Asia Pacific. "In our daily work, we experience that Asian consumers want products that are suited exactly to their wishes. To perfectly service them, we will strengthen our research and development activities respectively."
