April 11, 2013 • SymWhite® 377 wins PCHi Award in skin brightening category
• Sym3DTM for fuller and beautiful lips wins in the active ingredient category
• Innovations with high relevance for the Asian market shown at the PCHi company booth

Two products from Symrise were recognized in this year's PCHi Innovation award selection. SymWhite® 377 received a PCHi award for its skin brightening properties, and Sym3DTM convinced with its ability to help rebuild lip volume. At PCHi, Symrise also showed a wide array of products with high relevance for the Asian market.

For the third time, the Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) trade show honored innovative products and technologies, which drive development in the personal care and cosmetics industry in China.

This year, Symrise won two of the PCHi Awards: SymWhite® 377 being recognized in the whitening/brightening category. The ingredient provides visible brightening effects in 28 days. Beyond this, it has just recently received approval from the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) for use in cosmetic formulations due to its excellent safety profile. The other awarded product, Sym3DTM, won in the active ingredient category. Sym3DTM works directly on the lips to recreate a youthful, curved shape and on the face to reduce wrinkles.

The China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Awards (PCHi Awards) were handed over during a festive ceremony in the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center. The jury consisted of recognized experts from China's authoritative associations, such as the China Association of Fragrance, Flavor and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI), Universities and research institutes.

On the exhibition grounds, customers and visitors of the trade show had the chance to take a closer look at the two successful products and a wide array from the Symrise offering. The local Symrise team from China and Asia Pacific explained the products and their application in every detail at the company's booth. In addition, interested guests could test samples that were on display to demonstrate the product benefits, such as SymWhite® 377, SymCalmin®, SymDiol® 68 and SymDiol® 68T, SymPeptide® XLash and SymFinity® 1298. Major topics of conversation focused again on whitening, anti-ageing, sensitive skin products and preservative-free formulations.

"These topics have been in focus in the cosmetics and toiletries industry in China for a while and will continue to do so. This we learned from our in-depth conversations during the trade show with many local and international customers", explains Chung Sin Wong, Vice President Symrise Life Essentials Asia Pacific. "That we have won two awards during this year's PCHi shows that we do understand what matters to our customers and the consumers in the region. This makes us very proud and encourages us to continue our search for ingredients that help create products that meet the preferences of the local market", closes Chung Sin Wong.
