• Increased dividend of € 0.62 approved
Held at the company's headquarters in Holzminden for
the first time ever, Symrise AG's Annual General
Meeting for 2012 approved all resolutions with a broad
majority. The shareholders approved the three-percent
dividend increase to € 0.62 per share and elected a new
shareholder representative to the Supervisory Board. 81 %
of the share capital was represented.
In his speech before 350 shareholders and guests, Symrise
AG's CEO Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram reported on the
fiscal year 2011. Despite the European sovereign debt
crisis and an economic slowdown, the company managed to
continue its growth and maintain its industry-leading
EBITDA margin of 20%. The company achieved this by
discontinuing operations with weak margins, expanding
business with key accounts and maintaining its strong
position in emerging markets, in addition to other
strategies. Symrise is also off to a great start in the
current fiscal year and increased its sales growth target
for 2012 to between three and five percent in its
first-quarter report.
With Dr. Hans-Heinrich Gürtler reaching the determined age
limit for Supervisory Board members, his term as a member
ended at the close of the Annual General Meeting. The
shareholders therefore elected a new representative to the
Supervisory Board. Dr. Winfried Steeger, CEO of Jahr
Holding GmbH, Hamburg, garnered the trust of his peers at
the Annual General Meeting, obtaining more than 99 percent
of the vote.
Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram said: "We are pleased that
our Supervisory Board is being complemented by such a
top-class and experienced manager as Dr. Steeger. He brings
comprehensive management experience and expertise from
various industries that will be very valuable to
Symrise."
