Smyre Announces Retirement from Synovus

December 22, 2014, COLUMBUS, GA - After 38 years of service to Synovus, Calvin Smyre has decided to retire from the position of Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at the end of this year.

Smyre joined Synovus in 1976 as a Manager Trainee and in 1980 was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Marketing Officer for Columbus Bank and Trust. He later served as Senior Vice President and Assistant to the Chairman for Community Affairs in 1990, and was promoted to Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and President of the Synovus Foundation in 1999. He is a former member of the Synovus Corporate Executive Group.
