ORLANDO, Florida - July 18, 2018 - Last year, T-Mobile added the most new stores in the company's history, opening nearly 1,500 new stores, including 35 in the Orlando area. And the Un-carrier has no plans to stop in 2018, setting its sights on seven more stores in the area that are expected to open in the next six months.

T-Mobile's record-setting retail growth parallels its 4G LTE network expansion, which reaches 322 million people today - nearly every single person in the U.S. - and plans to cover 325 million people by the end of this year. T-Mobile customers already have one of the fastest LTE networks in Orlando, according to OpenSignal, and T-Mobile has delivered the fastest nationwide 4G LTE network more than four years in a row, based on the results of millions of consumer-initiated tests taken using Speedtest. And in OpenSignal's latest report, nearly six billion real user tests show that T-Mobile customers experience the fastest LTE network in the U.S.

T-Mobile's stores are designed to put the customer first. Employees are equipped with remote tablets to handle transactions quickly and easily from anywhere in the store. The shelves are stocked with high-end and budget-friendly smartphones, tablets and accessories, and staffed by T-Mobile's certified Mobile Experts.

'At T-Mobile, we are customer obsessed and put them at the center of everything we do,' said Brad Nash, vice president of T-Mobile's Southeast Region. 'We aim to create a customer experience both on our network and in our retail stores all over the country that is not only totally unique to the Un-carrier, but is second-to-none.'

Many of the new stores are opening in towns where the Un-carrier has never been before, giving residents more choices for their wireless services. And customers have been joining T-Mobile in droves - more than 40 million in fact - since 2012. In 2017, more than 600 U.S. communities got their first T-Mobile store and this year, T-Mobile will add The Villages to that growing list.

During the past two and a half years, T-Mobile has grown its retail footprint from 3,600 stores to 5,300 stores - pushing the company from last place to second place (behind Verizon) among the nation's largest wireless network operators. Its expansion comes at a time when many major brands are actually closing stores. In 2018 alone, Toys R Us, Walgreens/Rite Aid, Best Buy and Sam's Club are expected to shut down more than 1,600 locations between them.

T-Mobile is also a leader in improving the 4G LTE network experience. In nearly 5,000 cities and towns nationwide, including Orlando, Kissimmee and Daytona Beach, T-Mobile has launched a trifecta of LTE Advanced technologies - 4x4 MIMO, 256 QAM and carrier aggregation - which can dramatically improve customers' previous download speeds to nearly one gigabit with a capable device. How fast is that? You could download a two-hour movie to your wireless device in just about 15 seconds.

At the same time T-Mobile's increasing its network speeds, it's improving coverage in rural areas too. T-Mobile continues to deploy its recently acquired 600 MHz spectrum, which is prized for its ability to travel two times further from cell sites and work four times better in buildings than mid-band spectrum. T-Mobile's 600 MHz spectrum will also serve as the foundation for the company's nationwide deployment of 5G.
