Tableau Software today announced that it will grant free licenses and training to La Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) in El Salvador to enable a new generation of business leaders with data analytics skills. The new program will help over 800 students starting in September, when the new academic year starts.

This grant is part of Tableau's Academic Program, which provides free Tableau Desktop licenses to instructors and students to help equip the next generation of workers with data analytics skills. The grant was procured by Tableau's partner Pensertrust, a Salvadoran company with operations in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, with specialized Business Intelligence consultants and strategies for clients of different turns and sizes.

"For us as a company, it is very important to sign this partnership with a leading academic institution that provides El Salvador and Latin America with highly competitive professionals. We are committed to support this goal and contribute to the preparation of professionals with leading technology worldwide through our experience in the regional market," said Raul Barrenechea, executive director of Pensertrust.

ESEN is a higher education institute that offers training for careers in business and economics, legal sciences and engineering business. Its mission is to provide comprehensive training for future leaders of El Salvador and Central America. It also seeks to contribute to academic excellence to create a critical mass of professionals to promote sustainable development in the region.

"In today's business world there is a high demand for professionals who can effectively communicate and analyze large volumes of information generated every day to make the best possible decisions. This academic cooperation will allow us to incorporate the use of Tableau Desktop in academic courses as a core tool for data visualization and for exploratory and confirmatory analysis, as well as reports and presentations," said José Everardo Rivera Bonilla, general director of ESEN.

"The donation to ESEN consists of free licensing of Tableau Desktop for academic purposes for professors and students. It will be used to support courses and academic activities, training teachers to promote the use of Tableau in the courses ESEN deems appropriate. It will also be used for specialized talks coordinated by the team leader in the ESEN educational project, which is aimed at students who will use Tableau to educate their community about the importance of decision making. The above activities will be supported locally by Pensertrust, SA de CV."
