Talktalk Telecom : joins forces with Tinder Foundation

At TalkTalk we want everyone to be able to enjoy the benefits of digital technology safely and securely. However, today there are still over 12 million people in the UK who don't have basic digital skills. Many are older, disabled or financially disadvantaged - precisely those who would benefit from being digitally connected to loved ones, information and useful products and services.

Tinder Foundation share our ambition for a world where everyone benefits from digital and we've been working together since 2012. They bring together thousands of community partners to create the UK online centres network, a place where people across the UK can gain the support and skills they need to change their lives and overcome social challenges.

Tinder Foundation's Chief Executive, Helen Milner says 'We're delighted to be working with TalkTalk, who have made a significant commitment to supporting our work in thousands of communities across the UK to help people gain the digital skills to use the internet safely. TalkTalk's vision for a digitally included society matches our own, and by working together we will be able to have a significant impact.'

All our staff are given time off to volunteer and hundreds have joined our mission to make Britain better off. Staff receive training to become Digital Champions and then visit their local centres to support leaners gain the vital digital skills needed to share in the benefits of the digital world. Many people can take digital skills for granted and assume they're something everyone has, so they can make a difference in just one day, passing on those skills.

Later this year we'll be announcing new partnership activities to help even more people gain the skills they need to enjoy digital technology safely and securely.
