Zurich, 26 May 2016 - As part of the expansion of its online advertising offer, Tamedia has decided to use Google DoubleClick for Publishers and Ad Exchange. The combination of these two technologies simplifies the fully-automated buying of advertising space on Tamedia's digital platforms in real time. By using a market-leading technology, customers can benefit from a simplified delivery and users from a better experience.

In addition to new formats, audience data across all of the digital platforms will be included in the programmatic offer. Tamedia has recently launched a new intent targeting advertising product for online marketing aimed at specific users groups. The new product is available on the digital platforms as well as in the Tamedia Premium Publisher Network PPN and it enables advertisers to reach target groups tailored to their requirements, reducing waste coverage.

'The strategic partnership with Google reduces the complexity and leads to a more effective offer for our customers,' said Marcel Kohler, a member of the Tamedia management board who will also be responsible for the entire advertising business part of the Swiss media group as of 2017. 'We are focusing on the leading technology on the market and gaining full control of our advertising inventory, our data and our commercial independence.'

Alwin Mahler, Managing Director DACH Global Partnerships at Google, added: 'We are very pleased to work with Tamedia to drive forward the programmatic market in Switzerland. Tamedia has recognised the way things were going at an early stage and we are fortunate to be able to support Switzerland's largest media group as a technology partner.'

In 2014, Tamedia was the first Swiss media company to launch its digital advertising inventory for programmatic advertising. Advertisers can buy the media group's digital advertising inventory in just a few mouse clicks. The Tamedia inventory includes, among others,, the highest-reach news platform 20min.ch, the regional newspaper network Newsnet, the Premium Publisher Network PPN and leading portals such as tutti.ch, Doodle, homegate.ch and ricardo.ch. Up until now, Tamedia has used the Improve Digital Programmatic Buying Platform.
