CONCORD, N.C. -

Target is expanding its sponsorship of NASCAR rising star Kyle Larson to include the majority of the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) season. During the season Target will feature its first-of-its-kind digital savings app, Cartwheel, on Larson's No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro and firesuit. This is Larson's second season with Turner Scott Motorsports' NNS program and first driving the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro, where he competed in 2013 en route to NNS Rookie of the Year honors and an eighth-place finish in points.

• About Cartwheel: Cartwheel is a fun and easy new way to save at Target and allows guests to choose from hundreds of offers at Target stores nationwide. These offers - which typically range from 5 to 30 percent off Target's already great prices - are readily accessible from mobile phones, and can be shared easily with friends on Facebook. And as guests use Cartwheel more, they earn the opportunity to access even more offers. Since its launch last May, more than 5 million people have signed up for Cartwheel and saved more than $43 million on their Target purchases.

• How Cartwheel Works: Guests can sign up for Cartwheel via desktop (at ) or by downloading the Cartwheel app on a mobile device. Users are initially given 10 spots to fill from hundreds of easy to search Cartwheel offers. Offers are redeemed at checkout in any U.S. Target store, all from the scan of a single barcode from a smartphone - or the barcode can be printed out from a desktop computer. Guests can change their Cartwheel list any time they like, and redeem offers multiple times.

• Larson NNS Numbers: Larson has 33 NNS starts where he competed in his first full-time season of driving in one of NASCAR's top-three National Touring Series in 2013. He compiled nine top-five and 17 top-10 finishes en route to the Rookie of the Year honor. Larson had a best finish of second place, capturing the runner-up spot on three occasions. He also had an average starting position of 14.6 and an average finishing position of 13.8 and led 102 laps while completing 75.8 percent of his laps running in the top-15.

Kyle Larson, Driver, No. 42 Cartwheel Chevrolet Camaro:
"I'm proud to have even more opportunities to drive behind a great brand with such a strong history in motorsports. I'm already a huge fan of the Cartwheel app and placing it on my Nationwide car and firesuit is a fun way to differentiate the team on the track."

Steve Lauletta, President, Chip Ganassi Racing Teams:
"As we gear up for the 2014 NASCAR season it is important to align Kyle with the Target brand every chance we can. It began at the end of last season in his Cup races, and continued early this year when Target Cartwheel was featured on his midget car for the Chili Bowl in Tulsa."
