Mr. Jack William Szostak, the winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, also the member of US National Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the 2015 Nobel Prize Laureate Summit(NPLS), visited the Tasly Headquarter on the afternoon of May 9, accompanied by other members of the NPLS.

During the visit, Mr. Zhou Shuiping,Vice Dean of Tasly Academy, gave an introduction of Tasly's great-health industry operations and pharmaceutical research development. And after that the two sides exchanged views on matters of common interest including future development of gene therapy and the development of innovative drugs. The visitors were impressed by the great health industry development, especially the progress of the FDA clinical trials of Tasly's Danshen Compound Dripping Pill (Dantonic), and expressed their interest of further communication with Tasly Institute on possible collaborations in gene therapy.

Nobel Prize Laureate Summit (NPLS) , initiated by Nobel Prize Laureate International Science Exchange Association, is an annual international medical summit forum held in China. Jack W. Szostak, who is the Chairman of academic board and one of the five Nobel Medical Prize winners of the NWMS, was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, along with Elizabeth Blackburn and Carol W. Greider, for the discovery of how chromosomes are protected bytelomeres.
