Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has always worked towards spreading awareness about resource conservation across the country. Continuing the momentum, Tata Power's subsidiary Welspun Renewable Energy Private Limited ( WREL) organised 'Khoj Yatra', a green energy awareness drive in Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh, to communicate the importance of Green, Clean, and Renewable Energy.

The drive was organised in partnership with Madhya Pradesh Government and was highly appreciated by the students. More than 100 students from various government schools visited Tata Power Neemuch Plant and were sensitised about effective management and conservation of energy in their everyday life.

The objective of the initiative was to educate the students about environmental issues like global warming, air and water pollution, etc. The programme taught the students about solar power generation and the importance and benefits of renewable energy, which will encourage them to minimize pollution by recycling and reusing.

Speaking about the drive, Mr. Mahesh Paranjpe , CEO & ED - WREL said, 'Tata Power considers children as the drivers of India's future and we encourage them to understand the importance of energy conservation. While we started the initiative, it is always the enthusiastic participation and response of the children which has enabled us to formalise & implement our programs successfully. I would like to thank our employees for their constant support in achieving such milestones.'

Tata Power's Neemuch Plant has sensitized over 1500 students & teachers on energy conservation.
