Tata Power, India's largest integrated power pany, has always been undertaking several green initiatives to conserve the environment and sensitise their stakeholders. Driving this forward, the Company organised a 'Plastic Free Campaign', at Palse water fall of Mulshi catchment area at Bhira Division. Tata Power employees, along with some students, volunteered in the drive to clean up the waterfall area.

The objective of the campaign was to clean up the catchment areas and sensitise locals and tourists to use dustbins, and curb polythene bags as they route through dam and cause water pollution. The volunteers were divided in 10 teams, each headed by Tata Power executives from their CSR team. The volunteers cleaned up the areas assigned and picked garbage like empty bottles, rappers, polythene bags, disposal cups and plates. More than 70 volunteers from various schools from Bhira engaged in this campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mahesh Paranjpe- Chief Hydros, Tata Power, said, "We are extremely happy to be able to create awareness amongst the youth and help them realise how such initiative leaves a positive mark on the society and the environment. We are thankful to all volunteers to make this event a success. Tata Power is mitted to the environment conservation and have been continuously organising awareness initiatives to sensitise the munities and stakeholders. We will continue to undertake similar initiatives in the future."

The campaign was spread across for eight weeks, occurring every weekend. In line with the governments' 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan', Tata Power has been conducting various cleanliness drives in and around its plant operations.
