Club Enerji, Tata Power's school outreach programme, which was initiated in 2007, has been working towards sensitising children and the public at large about the importance of conserving energy and instilling moral as well as civic values in young minds. Continuing with the momentum, Tata Power Club Enerji hosted a Mega Rally in association with Pawar Public School, Bhandup (West) IDUBS Hindi, Bhandup west, Gurunanak School, Station Road, Gurunanak School( Shivaji Talav), Bright High School,Bhandup West,N.E.S School BHattipada Bhandup,Cosmos High School, St.Francis Xavier's High School,Pawar Public School Chandivali.

About 330 students from 10 schools participated in the mega rally spreading the message on energy conservation and sensitising close to 1500 people. The objective of this awareness rally was to educate the residents of Mumbai about the need for energy conservation and various ways to conserve it. The rally was well received and passed through the streets of Mumbai and residential societies. Before the rally, students came together to prepare banners, placards and posters which depicted various ways of conserving energy.

Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Anil Sardana, CEO & MD, Tata Power, said, 'Tata Power's Club Enerji is a national movement that has covered more than 450 schools in 11 cities. The enthusiastic involvement and the dedication displayed by the students to spread the message is remarkable and has contributed largely towards making this a national movement. We have been successful in reaching out to numerous schools across cities, and such rallies are a step forward in taking our message of conservation to the masses. We appreciate the active participation from the students, teachers and the principal for extending their support to this initiative'.

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives. The savings of 17.26 MU of electricity is equivalent to saving 17,200 tonne of CO2 for a year. Tata Power's Club Enerji has won numerous accolades and has been recognised as a best practice in forums like Learning Mission by the Tata group. A case study has also been done by IIM Ahmedabad on the programme. Further, it has also won the gold at the ABCI awards in the category 'best communication material' and bronze for its resource conservation module. Also, Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Awards, Singapore, has conferred 'APELA 2012 - Eco Advocate Award' to Club Enerji.
