Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has always undertaken several initiatives to improve the quality of education for students living in and around its areas of operation. Taking this commitment forward, Industrial Energy Limited (IEL), a joint venture of Tata Power and Tata Steel, organized a teacher's orientation programme for all the instructors of its free spoken English, Mathematics & Science coaching centers in Kapileswar High School, Kalinganagar. In order to implement effective learning opportunities for students, IEL had initiated 13 coaching centers in the nearby villages of Kalinganagar to provide remedial classes in Maths & Science, in addition to improving spoken and written English.

The purpose of this orientation programme was to recognize, enhance, and transform the role of teachers, and incorporate quality, rigor, and professional development in their teaching. The orientation programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Pravati Mishra, Head Mistress of Kapileswar High School, in the presence of Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, CEO-IEL and Chief, Kalinganagar station.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, CEO-IEL and Chief Kalinganagar station, said, 'Tata Power has always understood the importance of quality education in order to build a better future for children. Through this initiative, we aim to empower teachers with specialized skills in teaching so that they are able to impart better education to students. The success of such initiatives depends largely on the combined efforts of parents, students as well as faculty members. Tata Power will continue to provide further training and development programmes for teachers and students in the future as well.'
