Tata Football Academy (TFA) will begin the selection trials for inducting players into the Tata Football Academy.

The trials will commence from November 24, 2017 in Ranchi, Jharkhand and over the next 3 months will be held across the country. They will conclude in Kerala on March 3, 2018. The shortlisted participating players will be called to TFA, Jamshedpur for the final selection which will be held in April/May 2018. The trial procedure is highly competitive and attracts some of the best talents from across the country. Aspirants will be tested on their performance in match situations, technical skills, tactical awareness and physical ability.

Speaking on the announcement of the trials, Mr Mukul Choudhari, Chief, Sports Excellence Centres, Tata Steel said, 'This initiative gives us an opportunity to provide an ideal ambience for promising footballers to develop their potential to the fullest. TFA not only provides intensive training but also all-round development opportunities with facilities for formal education and vocational training. We will continue to train budding footballers and encourage them to reach greater heights in professional football.'

The eligibility criteria are:

  • Born between 1.1.2002 and 31.12.2003
  • Minimum height should be 5ft 6in
  • Minimum weight should be 55 kgs

The participating players will need to carry the following during the time of trials:

  • Birth Certificate issued by the Panchayat, Registrar of Births & Deaths, Municipal Corporation or any other Government equivalent authority (Original and a copy). The date of Registration of Birth mentioned in the certificate should be within one year of the actual date of birth of player.
  • Copy of Aadhar Card
  • Letter from the School Principal certifying the age and class in which you are studying as per the school records (Original and a copy)
  • 2 nos. Passport size photograph
  • Full personal playing kit
