A steam generator has been manufactured at the Bugulma Mechanical Plant of JSC TATNEF.
The generator has been designed on the basis of the "Lukoil-NNIINP" date sheet and the VNIINEFTEMASH technical design and is part of a 2 million tons per year rated feed carboxylic and Devonian oil tars delayed coking unit. The unit is designed for processing of heavy oil residues to obtain additional volumes of light oil products and petroleum coke.
The unit generates medium-pressure steam through circulation of heavy gas oil.
The process is based on the recuperation principle, i.e. partial return of energy for reuse in the same process. Thus, no additional energy is required   to produce   medium pressure steam, as it is generated at the account of the heavy gas oil energy.
The BMZ of JSC TATNEFT has manufactured the vessel, which meets all the requirements of the process and is equipped with modern means of automation and process control. Compared to standard designs the unit manufactured at the plant significantly reduces power consumption and servicing costs.  As a matter of fact the original design envisaged two packages. At the suggestion of BMZ experts the VNIINEFTEMASH Institute revised the design and introduced changes, which resulted in one unit generating the required   power.
The 8-way bundle of U-shaped tubes has replaced the basically designed floating head tube bundle in order to improve the equipment reliability. The presence of the U-bends has allowed setting the safety margin higher than it was envisaged by the data sheet in accordance with which    the steam generator should be rated for 125 percent of the heat load.
This technology was awarded the first degree Diploma for "Best exhibit,   best design or best technical solution" of the XXIst Tatarstan Oil and Gas and Petrochemicals Forum. The prestigious award was obtained in the framework of the specialized exhibition "Oil and Gas. Petrochemicals" in the nomination "Energy-saving technologies and equipment".
