Tatneft' imeni V D Shashina : Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day Was Celebrated at TATNEFT

Festivities dedicated to celebrating Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day were held in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan) on September 6.
The celebration festivities were attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Maganov, General Director of JSC TATNEFT, Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the Oil Industry Issues, Mazit Salikhov, Head of Almetyevsk Municipal District, heads of ministries and departments of the Russian Federation and  the Republic of Tatarstan, honored guests from different regions of the Republic and Russia, heads of the municipalities of the oil region in the Republic of Tatarstan, veterans of the oil industry, workers, professionals, managers of the oil and gas production divisions  and enterprises of TATNEFT Group of Companies, employees of related industry branches and the social sphere.
Celebration of the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day began with an opening ceremony of the "Iske Elmet" House of Culture in the historic part of the oil capital reconstructed with the support of the oilmen. Opening of the renovated House of Culture coincided with the Year of Culture in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan.
A theatralized part of the celebration at the city Maidan continued with colorful representation of the history of oil development in Tatarstan. Traditionally best workers of TATNEFT Group of Companies: representatives of crude oil production and service enterprises, workers of petrochemicals production and oil refining, petroleum products retail and distribution marketing networks and others took part in a solemn parade.  
Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan in his address to the audience highly praised the contribution of the oilmen to the economic and social development of the Republic and congratulated everybody on Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers.
Nail Maganov, General Director of JSC TATNEFT, addressed the residents of the oil region with welcoming remarks and congratulations. He pointed out in his speech that the Oilmen's Day was a national holiday in Tatarstan, since the oil is the main resource, wealth and property of the Republic.
The Company's entities are celebrating their professional holiday having good results in all the areas of their activities. The main objective - stable crude oil production was carried out with application of the latest technologies and enhanced oil recovery methods. Systematic successful work was performed to increase the production volume of extra-viscous oil. The Company studies the prospects of extracting shale oil today.
The Company has successfully implemented programs for development of petrochemicals production, as well as crude oil refining and marketing of finished products. The production system is being improved; much attention is paid in the Company to introduction of innovative energy-saving technologies, lean production and project management tools.
The Company invests significant funds in modernization of the tire manufacturing Complex. Nizhnekamsk tires successfully compete with well-known international brands today.
Yielding of EURO 5 diesel fuel   at the Nizhnekamsk TANECO Complex is a real labor victory. The competitive environmentally friendly products yielded by the Complex have become the hallmark of the Tatarstan's refinery.
All these achievements are based on the creative work of several generations of oilmen, veterans, who have laid the foundations of the oil industry in the country. The Company's General Director thanked the collectives of structural units of the Company, service companies, small oil companies, veterans and workers for their effective joint work. Nail Maganov also emphasized a valuable contribution of the social sphere workers to the development of oil industry.
The celebration continued with equestrian competitions at the racetrack, and a concert featuring well-known artists of the Russian and Tatar stage.
Tatar and Russian variety artists gave a concert on the Oilmen's Square for young people. Festive fireworks concluded the celebration events.
