Tatneft' imeni V D Shashina : TATNEFT Is 65 Years Old

April 28 marked the 65th anniversary of the JSC TATNEFT's Establishment.
The USSR Council of Ministers adopted a resolution "On measures to accelerate the development of crude oil production in the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic" and establishment of TATNEFT Association In 1950. This document appointed Shmarev A.T. as Head of the TATNEFT Production Association, V.A. Eronin, as Chief Engineer - First Deputy Head and M.V. Maltsev as Chief Geologist and Deputy Head of the Association.
The structure of the established TATNEFT Production Association included crude oil-producing trusts "Bavlyneft" and "Bugulmaneft", drilling trust "Tatburneft", Engineering Construction trust "Tatneftepromstroy" and "Tatnefteproekt" Design Office.
TATNEFT Association had made a huge contribution to the development of the oil industry of the USSR and then of the Russian Federation. Over the past decades, the Company has become a testing ground for appraising innovative technologies that were later widely applied in the practice of the domestic oil industry. The professionals of TATNEFT were the first to apply such scientific and technical developments in the process of production, as turbine drilling, reservoir pressure maintenance systems, industrial methods of constructing drilling rigs and other oilfield infrastructure facilities. Tatarstan oilmen were also the first to use the technology of pipeline corrosion protection with glass and polyethylene coating and implement vapor recovery units at the crude oil treatment facilities, which allowed significant improvement of the ecological situation in the region.
One of the Company's technical experts' achievements was development of a contour waterflooding method, which allows intensifying and optimizing hydrocarbon production through water injection directly into the oil-saturated part of the reservoir.
Its first billion tons of crude oil since the beginning of crude oil fields development in the Republic of Tatarstan the Company produced in May 1971. Production of the second billion was carried out in October 1981. August 2007 witnessed the production of the third billion tons of crude oil in Tatarstan.
Being one of the leaders of the oil industry of Russia JSC TATNEFT has developed and is actively implementing an innovation oriented development policy and successfully implementing a program to stabilize the volumes of commercial oil and gas production, including extra-viscous and hard-to-recover oil.
Significant resource assets of JSC TATNEFT and promising target to increase crude oil production are considerable reserves of extra-viscous oil (EVO). Today, the Company is implementing a project of developing Ashalchinskoye EVO field.
The program of developing the network of filling stations and full service stations is being successfully implemented by the Company. Currently there are more than 670 filling stations operated by TATNEFT Group of Companies.
JSC TATNEFT has developed and is actively implementing an innovation development program. A system of managing the results of intellectual activity, including planning and execution of research and development, rationalization and inventive activity, introduction of engineering developments in the process of production, evaluation and analysis of the results, as well as registration and commercialization of intangible assets has been developed and is being actively implemented at JSC TATNEFT for the development the Company's professionals' creative potential..
A lot of work is carried out at TATNEFT in the area of substituting of foreign technologies and equipment applied for crude oil production with analogues of domestic manufacture. This activity results in original technical solutions of the Company's professionals having world novelty and being protected by Russian patents for inventions.
A strategic project for TATNEFT is the construction of the TANECO Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex. Putting into commercial operation the TANECO's combined hydrocracking installation allows the Company to produce highly competitive, environmentally friendly products, including Euro-5 diesel fuel and jet fuel of grades RT, TS-1 and Jet A-1. In the future, the refinery will perform run-down distillation. Coke which is the only dark oil product will be used as fuel by the Nizhnekamsk CHP. Completion of the project implementation will allow yielding a wide range of high value added products of oil.
The actively developing petrochemical complex of JSC TATNEFT provide for manufacturing and marketing of tire products and carbon black. The tire manufacturing Complex of TATNEFT includes high-tech enterprises of JSC "Nizhnekamskshina", OOO "Nizhnekamsk Truck Tire Factory" and OOO "Nizhnekamsk SSC Tire Factory", which produce more than 300 commodity items of tires for passenger cars, agricultural machines, trucks, light truck and solid steel cord tires. The high quality of KAMA, KAMA EURO and Viatti brands tires, as well as innovative SSC tires is confirmed by the customer testimonials and victories at various prestigious competitions.
