JSC TATNEFT continues working on protection of the intellectual property rights for the results of the Company professionals' intellectual activities abroad. In October, the Company received patent US No.8833442 for the invention of "V-shaped whipstock  for drilling sidetracking wellbores" granted by the US Patent Office.
The present invention relates to devices intended for sidetracking in both cased and uncased wells. The technical result of the invention is expansion of the tool application scope, increasing the reliability of its operation, extending the life period of the wells, increasing oil recovery from the reservoir and increasing the profitability of the oil and gas fields' development.
Many foreign oil companies manifest genuine interest in the design of the V-shaped deflector at the international and Russian exhibitions. The whipstock anchor is made of a double-beam shaped tubular and contains no movable parts, reliably secured in any interval of the well casing. The whipstock "head" is pressed against the wellbore wall and it is firmly held in this position for the duration of the sidetracking and drilling a sidetrack.
The patent provides for protection of JSC TATNEFT's intellectual property rights for the invention of "V-shaped whipstock for drilling sidetracking wellbores" in the US supporting the Company's high competitiveness in the field of well drilling and workover.
