Tatneft' imeni V D Shashina : Traditional Professional Skill Competition at JSC TATNEFT

An annual professional skill competition of the key trade young workers of the JSC TATNEFT Production Group was held in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan).
Following the tradition, the professional skill competition held at the site of NGDU "Elkhovneft", a TATNEFT's structural division, brought together the best young professionals, who had proved by their conscientious work and high skill the right to represent their enterprises at the main professional ground of the Company.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by Nail Maganov, General Director of the Company, Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the issues of the oil industry and Assistant to TATNEFT's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mazit Salikhov, Head of Almetyevsk Municipal District,  and heads of structural divisions and subsidiaries of the Company, as well as the veterans of the oil industry.
Before the start of the competition   the results of the contest for the best structural division of the TATNEFT Production Group, having demonstrated the best economic and financial results in 2013, had been summed up. The grand ceremony also included awarding the winners of the XXVIIth Sport Games of the TATNEFT Production Group enterprises, as well as the winners of the corporate media contest in 2013 and the ones of the review contest of health improvement camps of the divisions and subsidiaries of JSC TATNEFT in 2014.
The professional skill competition is a powerful incentive for the professional development not only of the event participants, but also of the whole team of oilmen. This professional competition intensifies the exchange of best practices, enhances corporate relations, increases the prestige of working professions and is the place of friendly meetings for different generations.
The participants competed in the following categories at the competition grounds:  "Best Crude Oil Production Team", "Best RPM Team", "Best Crude Oil Treatment Shift Team", "Best Well  Remedial Servicing Crew", "Best  Electric Welder," "Best Drilling Shift Team", "Best Workover Crew", "Best Instrumentation and Automation Mechanic", "Best Power Line Electrician", "Best Repair Electrician", "Best Troubleshooting Electrician", "Best Lathe Operator", "Best Driver ".
Like last year, the contest events were broadcasted live on the "Luch" TV channel and via the internal corporate Intranet of JSC TATNEFT. The competitions were held at several contest venues, and videographers/ reporters were working at each of the sites offering the corporate portal users from different regions a possibility to watch live the competitions of different oil and related occupations representatives.
The professional skill competition has been held for the 44th time this year. As a result of the competition the challenge cup and honorable first place in the teams' competition were awarded to the team of NGDU "Almetyevneft", the 2nd place was awarded to the team of NGDU  Elkhovneft "", and the team of NGDU "Yamashneft" ranked the third.

Reference Information
The first professional skill  competition was held in 1970 at NGDU "Almetyevneft" in the shops of crude oil production, PRS (well remedial servicing), PPD (reservoir pressure maintenance) and was timed to the 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin birth. Then in 1975 different oil specialist  trade  competition   started to be held among the NGDUs (Oil and Gas Production Boards). In 1986 the competition was for the first time organized on the "Tatneft" Amalgamation scale.
The latest history of the professional skill competitions was renewed in 2001. A nomination "Best Young Worker in the Trade" was then introduced in the traditional professional skill competition. The young employees of the Company aged up to 33 started competing in the contests in 2003.
