An annual professional skill competition of the key trade young workers of the PJSC TATNEFT Group of Companies and service oil companies of the region was held in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan).
Following the tradition, the professional skill competition held at the training site of the "TATNEFT's Personnel Training Center", brought together the best young professionals from the Company's structural divisions, affiliates and service companies of Tatarstan.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by Nail Maganov, General Director of the Company, Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the issues of the oil industry, members of the Board of Directors and top managers of PJSC TATNEFT, heads of structural divisions and subsidiaries, as well as veterans of the oil industry.
Before the start of the competition the results of the contest for the best structural division of the TATNEFT Production Group, having demonstrated the best operational, economic and financial results in 2014, were summed up at the opening ceremony. The grand ceremony also included awarding the winners of the XXVIIIth Sport Games of the TATNEFT Production Group enterprises, as well as the winners of the corporate media contest in 2014 and the ones of the review contest of the health improvement camps of the the structural divisions and subsidiaries of PJSC TATNEFT in 2015.
Addressing the audience at the opening ceremony of the contest, Nail Ibragimov, First Deputy General Director for Production - Chief Engineer of PJSC TATNEFT pointed out, that maintaining all its traditional features the competition was developing from year to year acquiring new attributes and technical solutions, and continued to be a powerful incentive for improving the professional skills of the participants.
The participants competed in the following categories at the competition grounds: "Best Crude Oil Production Team", "Best RPM Team", "Best Crude Oil Treatment Shift Team", "Best Well Remedial Servicing Crew", "Best Electric Welder," "Best Drilling Shift Team", "Best Workover Crew", "Best Instrumentation and Automation Mechanic", "Best Power Line Electrician", "Best Repair Electrician", "Best Troubleshooting Electrician", "Best Lathe Operator", "Best Driver".
Announcing the results of the contest Nail Maganov stressed that this contest once again confirmed the high brand of the "Tatarstan petroleum school". The competitors and spectators witnessed a real "petroleum Olympiad" - festivity of labor, the atmosphere of live emotions, competitive spirit and at the same time good fellowship and unity of the team.
According to the General Director of the Company, it is very important for PJSC TATNEFT today to be a unified team and work together to meet the challenges of increasing crude oil production volumes, developing new types of petroleum feedstock, strengthening the resource base, further developing of petrochemicals production and oil refining, as well as improving the entire Company's production system.
Nail Maganov congratulated the winners with a well-deserved success and mentioned that the leaders of the competition would be recommended for encouragement at the level of the Russian Federation Ministry of Energy within the framework of the "Best in the profession" contest among the companies in the fuel and energy complex.
The professional skill competition was held for the 45th time this year. As a result of the competition the challenge cup and the honorable first place in the teams' competition were awarded to the team of NGDU "Almetyevneft"; the 2nd place was awarded to the team of NGDU "Elkhovneft"; and the team of "Yamasheft" ranked the third.

Reference Information
The first professional skill competition was held in 1970 at NGDU "Almetyevneft" in the shops of crude oil production, PRS (well remedial servicing), PPD (reservoir pressure maintenance) and was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin birth. Then in 1975 they started holding different trade skill competitions of the oil professionals among the NGDUs (Oil and Gas Production Divisions) of the entire "Tatneft" Amalgamation.
The history of the professional skill competitions was renewed in 2001 by introducing a nomination "Best Young Worker in the Trade" in the traditional professional skill competition. The young employees of the Company aged up to 33 have started competing in the contests since 2003.
