Tatneft' PAO : TATNEFT Accepts Participants of the young geologists Olympiad at the Company’s Summer Camps

The IIIrd Republican open field Olympiad of young geologists is being held on the basis of health improvement camps 'Druzhba' of NGDU 'Jalilneft' and 'Solnechny' of NGDU Elkhovneft.

The Olympiad opening took place with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Yevgeny Kiselev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation, Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT, Renat Muslimov, Consultant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the Oil Industry Issues.

The Geological forum of schoolchildren and their teachers brought together 288 students: 34 teams from different regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, a team of Bakhchisaray district from the Republic of Crimea and the team of Ust-Kamenogorsk from Kazakhstan. The Olympiad will run until July 17.

Welcoming the young Olympiad participants, Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out that oil is the basis for the development of our Republic, and it is very important, who will replace the current generation of geologists. Today, there are children involved in the 'geology' profile on a systematic basis in 38 schools of the Republic. The schoolchildren from Tatarstan win in various contests.

Yevgeny Kiselev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, expressed confidence that the experience gained in this school will help making the right choice in life, and associate it with geology, which is one of the most fascinating professions in the world.

Addressing the forum participants, Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT, emphasized the importance and prestige of the profession of geologist. The arsenal of people engaged in this trade includes the most modern equipment and technologies. But this only is not sufficient. The people involved need extensive knowledge in various fields of science. And immersion into this wonderful world is gratifying indeed.

During the multi-day geological marathon participating teams will take part in contests and competitions on the field camp organization and drawing up the geological route, heavy mineral sampling, basics of oil geology, mineralogy, paleontology, radiometrics and others. There is also a variety of cultural activities prepared for the children, including a visit to the Oil Museum in Leninogorsk.
