Tatneft' : Representatives of TATNEFT Company Took Part in the Meeting of the RANS

There was a reporting back meeting of the Volga-Kama Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences held in the town of Aznakayevo (Republic of Tatarstan) at the preemies of the 'Berezka' health improvement center of the TATNEFT Company's 'Aznakaevskneft' Oil and Gas Production Division.

The meeting was attended by eminent scientists, doctors and professors from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, Perm, Izhevsk, Bugulma, employees of scientific organizations, practicing oilfield workers: managers and professionals of TATNEFT.

Opening the meeting, Professor Renat Muslimov, Chairman of the regional section of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Consultant to President of Tatarstan, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, estimated the operating dynamics of different producing companies of and concluded that even low-yield wells may not be unprofitable in the territory of the Republic, and that it was important to correctly select and apply crude oil production technologies.

Academician Nail Ibragimov, First Deputy General Director for Production and Chief Engineer of TATNEFT Company, presented in his report the Company's achievements in the production of high-viscosity oil and pointed out the challenges still remaining to be solved on future.

During the event, there were presentations offered to the attention of scientists and oilmen on topical issues related to the development strategy of the Russian oil and gas industry, drilling of horizontal wells and hydrodynamic studies in them, as well as studies of reservoirs rocks of Tatarstan, where hydraulic fracturing is performed.

In addition to further technological improvements in fracturing and fields' development systems using horizontal wells, the resolutions of the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Natural Sciences, put the task of establishing the resource base and the own technologies of developing reserves of shale oil, as well as addressing the issue of creating the field testing site in Tatarstan to study the geological structure of coal beds with a view of their excavation.
