Tatneft' : TATNEFT Welcomes the Young Geologists’ Olympiad at the Company’s Camps for Children

The V-th Republican open field Olympiad of young geologists was opened at the premises of the Druzhba (Friendship) Recreation Camp of the TATNEFT Company.

The republican field Olympiad of young geologists will be held from July 11 to 17 on the basis of 'Druzhba' and 'Solnechny' health improvement camps for children. The grand opening ceremony was held with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Pavel Sorokin, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Nail Maganov, General Director of TATNEFT Company, Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on Oil Industry Affairs, and Svetlana Yashina, Chairperson of the Central Council of the Children's and Youth Geological Movement.

Welcoming the young participants, Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out the importance of such a form of communication and training of schoolchildren, as a field Olympiad in the Center of the Oil Region, where the commercial development of oil fields began 75 years ago.

General Director of TATNEFT, addressing the forum participants, emphasized the importance and role of modern geologists in crude oil production, who face today the tasks of exploring new deposits and developing the already discovered fields with application of up-to-date technologies, 'digital geology.' Nail Maganov expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Republic, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation for supporting the children's and youth geological movement and continuous attention paid to the problems of the industry, while the wishing to the children successful performance at the competition venues.

During a multi-day geological marathon, the participants will take part in geologically-focused contests and competitions. The children will also be offered various cultural-mass and sports actions.
