Tatneft' : The Day of the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Was Celebrated in Almetyevsk

Celebrations dedicated to the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day and Town Day were held in Almetyevsk on September 4.

The ceremonial events were attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT, Airat Khairullin, Head of the Almetyevsk Municipality, Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on oil industry issues, heads of the republican ministries and departments, veterans of crude oil production, inhabitants of the republican oil producing region.

This year's festivity was held at the main city square, and included an extensive program. It began with a theatrical performance 'Mother Earth', dedicated to the oil producers of Tatarstan and important stages of the native land's history. Later on it was followed by a parade of the best workers of TATNEFT's structural divisions, subsidiaries and the service sector units. The guests of the festival were demonstrated modern oil equipment, including installations for hydraulic fracturing, as well as vintage vehicles.

Among those who took part in the parade there were also the employees of the Medical Center of PJSC TATNEFT and the city of Almetyevsk, students of the Almetyevsk Petroleum Institute, students of technical schools of the south-eastern part of the Republic, representatives of the 'Gifted Children' Foundation and 'Rukhiyat' Foundation, health improvement camps of PJSC TATNEFT, winners of the Company's Sports' Games, players of the 'Neftyanick' ice hockey club, as well as tennis players, volleyball players, football players, karatekas, active participants of the 'Green fitness' project and others.

President of Tatarstan congratulated the festivity event participants. Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out in his speech that the oil companies had come to their professional day with great labor successes ensuring a significant increase in crude oil production, increment of hydrocarbon reserves and uninterrupted gas supply.

According to Tatarstan's President, an important event was commissioning of a delayed coking unit and achievement of maximum depth of oil refining at the TANECO Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex.

Addressing the audience, Nail Maganov, General Director of TATNEFT Company, emphasized: 'In our Republic this Oilman holiday is indeed a truly national one for all the people in Tatarstan, while the prestige of the oilman profession is one of the most honored and respected. Its prestige has been formed throughout the whole history of Tatarstan oil. Today, the oil industry is the flagship of the Republic's economy and the guarantor of the country's energy security'.

Nail Maganov pointed out that at the present stage of its development the Company had started implementing a new development strategy aimed at increasing the efficiency through increasing the crude oil production volume, doubling the volume of oil refining and improving the production system.

When the official part of the festive activities was over the 46th professional skills contest of the key occupations young employees of TATNEFT Group of Companies and service oil enterprises of the region started. The contest was held in 13 most in-demand professions. According to the results the challenge cup and the honorable first place in the team competition was awarded to the team of NGDU 'Almetyevneft'; 2nd place to NGDU 'Yamashneft'; 3rd place to NGDU 'Elkhovneft'.

As part of the celebrations in Almetyevsk there was an extensive cultural and entertainment program planned, including theatrical performances, the exhibition of artworks, workshops, etc.

Popular Tatar and Russian artistes also performed for the youth of the town at the Neftyanikov Square in the evening. The festivities were concluded with festive fireworks.

A competition of hockey teams of the Fuel and Energy Complex of Russia, which was held for the fourth time this year, was also timed to coincide with the celebrations.
