Our South Thames team are proud to be supporting the Kent-based charity Spadework with a £250 donation. The charity provides life skills training and work experience for over 90 adults with learning and other disabilities. Last December saw them receive the most votes through the regions ongoing donation box scheme which, every month, encourages residents from West Malling to visit its Leybourne Chase development and vote for one of three chosen causes to receive a donation.

Established in 1984, Spadework has spent the last 34 years devoting its time to creating training opportunities for adults with learning and other disabilities. The trainees who use Spadework's services experience a variety of jobs in its garden centre, farm shop and 50 seat café which is open seven days a week. Trainees are given the opportunity to develop their independence and personal skills to help improve their confidence and to provide them with the ability to reach their full potential.

Kris Healy, General Manager at Spadework, said: 'We are hugely appreciative of Taylor Wimpey's backing especially as our premises were recently broken into. Our work extends beyond those we directly help to both their families and the wider community. This is actually the second time that Taylor Wimpey has donated to us so I would like to say a big thank you for their generosity and ongoing support.'

Susan Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Thames said: 'Spadework benefits so many people in the local area and we are really pleased that they have, once again, received the backing of local people who have voted for them to receive a second donation from us. We would encourage visitors and local residents to our Leybourne Chase development to keep on voting for other local causes that would benefit from our support.'
