Picnic at The Parks is bigger and better than ever

Date: Wednesday 26 August 2015

A community picnic event held at The Parks in Bracknell Forest, Berkshire, received a big boost thanks to a £1,000 donation from our team at Taylor Wimpey West London.

Residents living at The Parks in Berkshire held their second annual Picnic in The Parks event on Saturday 15th August and we gave a £1,000 donation to the committee behind the event - The Parks Residents' Association - to help ensure this year's event was the best yet.

Sam Hammond, the association's Liaison Officer with Taylor Wimpey, says: "Last year's event was a real success with well over a hundred people coming along - but Taylor Wimpey's generous sum has helped us to make the event bigger and better!

"We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for the generous donation which allowed us to pay for more entertainment for children and families on the day."

Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West London, says: "We are always delighted to be able to contribute towards the community spirit at our developments and the residents' association at The Parks is doing a grand job of nurturing that sense of neighbourliness."

Activities and attractions organised for the day included a bake-off contest with a trophy up for grabs for the winner, cricket and football games, a bouncy castle, face-painting, a balloon-modeller, a magician, traditional games such as guessing how many sweets are in a jar, and servings of ice-cream.

A real sense of community has flourished at The Parks and the residents' association - formed in 2012 - also organises two other well-supported events each year, a Christmas tree lights switch-on ceremony and an Easter egg hunt.

All the properties at The Parks have now sold out but a new phase is due to be launched later this year.
