With Apple Business Chat, investors have a powerful new way to connect with TD Ameritrade where and when they want to.

“Our goal is to make investing simpler and more accessible, and one way we are doing that is bringing the best of TD Ameritrade to the platforms people use every day. The Messages app is one of the most popular ways to communicate, and we know that nearly 75 percent of our clients use an iPhone or iPad,” said Sunayna Tuteja, head of partnerships and emerging tech. “We are thrilled to support the launch of Apple Business Chat, and bring TD Ameritrade’s education, knowledge and experience to investors through this powerful new platform.”

“By leveraging technology to break down traditional barriers and meet consumers where they are with relevant education and engaging experiences, we can empower more consumers to take charge of their financial futures,” said Vijay Sankaran, chief information officer at TD Ameritrade. “The power of AI and machine learning in the experience we built for Apple Business Chat enables clients to access information with speed, but also layers in relevant context, to make sense of the information so they can make more confident decisions.”

The conversations can be continued on Apple Watch or Mac. Users can chat with an automated agent or choose a live agent at any time by typing ‘agent.’

When developing the experience for Apple Business Chat, TD Ameritrade based the use cases on the most frequently asked questions in its call centers to ensure maximum utility. Responses to those inquiries were then rendered for Apple Business Chat in a simple and engaging way.

“Part of offering a better investing experience is allowing clients to use the channel of their choice and the experience of their choice – automated or human,” said Tuteja.
