TechnipFMC TechnipFMC won a Spotlight on New Technology award for its 20K HPHT Subsea Choke at the 2017 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston. This prestigious award recognizes and honors innovative technologies that significantly impact offshore oil and gas exploration and production.

TechnipFMC's 20K HPHT subsea choke is designed to reliably withstand the most severe conditions in high-pressure, high-temperature oil and gas production environments, while eliminating the need for hydraulic control fluids. The 20K HPHT subsea choke meets the design guidelines for API 17TR8 and has been qualified to meet or exceed the requirements of API Specification 17D. Its plug-and-cage design combines proprietary HPHT sealing technologies and TechnipFMC's G2i electric actuator, providing precise control of the choke position when compared to traditional hydraulic actuation technology. The choke is currently qualified for 10,000 ft. water depth (chokes for deeper water are under development), 20,000 psi maximum working pressure, and -20°F to 350°F operating temperatures for oil, gas, and multi-phase production applications. HPHT systems with the 20K HPHT Subsea Choke will allow subsea operators to exploit deeper wells and allow such fields to be fully developed.

'We are very pleased to be recognized for our international leadership in technology and subsea equipment for the tenth consecutive year,' said Brad Beitler, Executive Vice President of Technology and R&D at TechnipFMC. 'The award also recognizes our innovative work to bring together the scope, know-how, and determination needed to transform our clients' project economics.'
