Ludwigsburg/Sassenberg, 10 March 2017 - When Druckerei Bühler, with its headquarters in Ludwigsburg, invested in a new HP Indigo 10000 in the middle of last year, they also opted for a cooling system made by technotrans. The omega.k 400 L chiller, which is specifically configured for this new printing press, ensures a constant temperature level, thereby enabling high-quality printing results even at the high temperatures of up to 45°C which are present in the press room. In addition, Bühler benefits from the extensive technotrans single source service, enabling the printing company to save further costs with regard to the regular maintenance of the systems.

After a runtime of more than one year, Mark Fischer, a member of the management board of G. Bühler GmbH, believes that the decision has already brought a good return: 'The cooling solution made by technotrans has enabled us to reach an outstanding level of process stability that is indirectly driving our business as a whole.' The cost-effective operation of the new printing press would not be possible for Bühler without the technotrans solution. The company is now in a position to fulfil customer requests in terms of larger formats, such as posters, etc.

The omega.k 400 L has been specifically adapted to the requirements of the HP printing press in terms of its performance and interfaces, and it is characterised by a particularly high level of process stability. The chiller consistently ensures a constant temperature level. Set at 4°C, it ensures a constant temperature within the HP Indigo 10000 in Ludwigsburg. 'Thanks to these stable parameters we achieve optimum printing results with consistent high quality,' says Mark Fischer.

High energy efficiency and operational reliability
The user-friendly design, the price-performance ratio of the new cooling system, compared to other suppliers, as well as the high control accuracy with very little deviation from the standardised temperature, were also convincing factors for Druckerei Bühler. The energy efficiency is another advantage of the technotrans solution. The waste heat of the printing press is led to a chiller that is set up outside the press room. As a result the waste heat does not affect the indoor climate at all. Taking all parameters into account, this results in a high level of operational safety and reliability, Mark Fischer confirms, whereby the cooling technology makes a strong contribution.

The extensive technotrans service network and the stable printing processes ensure maximum press uptime for all customers. Mark Fischer sees a clear advantage in the fact that the entire cooling technology used at Druckerei Bühler is provided by technotrans: 'The investment in the cooling systems, whether for offset or digital printing, proves to be highly profitable on a daily basis.'
