Tokyo, Japan, August 5, 2014 --- The Teijin Group announced today that its polyester fiber subsidiaries Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited (TPL), Teijin (Thailand) Limited (TJT) and transmission belt-reinforcement polyester-cord subsidiary Teijin Cord (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (TCT) have each received the National Occupational Safety and Health Award, the most authoritative safety award in Thailand, for this year. TPL has now received the award 11, TJT nine times, and TCT seven consecutive years.

The three Teijin subsidiaries were recognized for implementing various initiatives to enhance employee safety awareness, including a safety week during which company divisions shared information about their respective safety activities. Another especially noteworthy activity was safety inspections conducted by senior personnel, including the president.

Since 1986, the National Occupation Safety and Health Award has recognized outstanding initiatives in Thailand's environmental, safety & health (ESH) field. Applicants are evaluated in terms of ESH policies and initiatives according to criteria set by the Ministry of Labour's Department of Labour Protection and Welfare,.

The three Teijin subsidiaries have been certified under ISO9001 for quality management systems and ISO14001 for environmental management systems. TPL and TJT have also received 18001 certification under the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSAS).
