Tokyo, Japan, May 19, 2016 --- Teijin Limited announced today that it will exhibit at SNEC PV POWER EXPO 2016 , one of the world's largest trade shows for photovoltaic (PV) power and related technologies, materials and devices. The expo will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in China from May 24 to 26.

The Teijin booth (W4-110, 111) will introduce a new solution for high efficiency passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC) solar cell, called NanoGramPERC CELL, utilizing the company's printable electronics material NanoGramsilicon paste in combination with advanced laser doping technologies.

NanoGramsilicon paste, developed by Teijin subsidiary NanoGram Corporation , contains approximately 20nm-diameter silicon nanoparticles that include dopants. When NanoGramsilicon paste is used to add a heavily boron-doped region underneath, the rear contacts can minimize metal contact recombination and rear contact resistance. This dominant configuration enables PERC cell to efficiently convert solar energy.

Teijin developed NanoGramPERC CELL by utilizing screen printing process and laser process to realize boron doping and laser ablation simultaneously in one single step. Teijin agreed with Wuhan DR Laser Technology Co., Ltd (DR Laser), a world-leading company of PERC cell laser processing devices, to co-develop new laser doping technologies and established Laser Application Technology Joint Laboratory in DR Laser's premises in Wuhan, China. The two companies will jointly develop laser doping processes and build up production systems that will dramatically enhance solar cell efficiency.

This will be Teijin's third consecutive appearance at SNEC PV POWER EXPO, which expects to attract approximately 1,500 professionals from 90 countries. Teijin looks forward to expanding the technologies at this event, targeting to become a next-generation de facto standard in solar cell manufacturing.
