TELECITY GROUP PLC 15 January 2016
This is a big week for us at TelecityGroup. On Monday our shareholders voted decisively in favour of the recommended acquisition of TelecityGroup by Equinix Inc, creating a compelling global offer for our customers. We officially join Equinix on Friday 15 January 2016.
I am incredibly proud of everything TelecityGroup has achieved. The business has been on an amazing journey since it was formed in 1998 as TeleCity Limited and opened its first data centre in Manchester. Today we run 41 data centres in 12 cities in 11 countries, with over 750 talented people working across the business from IT specialists, to engineers, to sales and marketing professionals.
I would like to thank all our employees for their commitment to excellence and congratulate them on the success they have achieved, always with their characteristic good humour and integrity.
Everyone has contributed to getting to where we are today: the four Regional Vice Presidents and their teams have delivered an excellent performance in 2015; Rob Coupland and the UK team have worked incredibly hard to support customers and offer new services; James Tyler and his commercial team have tirelessly developed our services and offer to customers; David Crowther and the finance team have been extraordinarily focused and attentive; Paul Bishop and his team have produced a root and branch transformation of our Network and IT infrastructure; and last but not least, our CFO Eric Hageman, has provided outstanding stewardship of this transformative moment in our life, with absolute commitment to shareholder value.
We have been lucky to have wonderful customers and have worked hard to earn their loyalty and we thank them for being our partners over the years. I'm confident the combination of TelecityGroup and Equinix will better serve our customers' needs into the future and we look forward to continuing to serve them.
