Regarding the article in today's Sunday Telegraph stating in its headline 'Telecom Italia boss 'ready to quit' over activist' , TIM would like to clarify that the headline is misleading and does not reflect the exchange between Amos Genish and the paper.

TIM also wishes to point out that at the moment Amos Genish does not formally hold the role of CEO, but that of a Director of the company, in addition to his role as General Manager. It will be for the new Board, after the shareholders' meeting of May 4th, to appoint the CEO, also based on the view regarding the strategic vision and business plan.

The issues set out by Amos Genish in today's article regarding the future make-up of the board and the need for the new board to express its position regarding the Business Plan had, in fact, already been dealt with and explained in another recent interview of Amos Genish published in Il Sole 24 Ore on 19 April.
