- Telefonica's multi-device calling and messaging app, TU Go, to launch in Argentina through the Movistar network.
- TU GO first launched in the UK in February 2013 and now has almost half a million users.
- Telefonica customers can make and receive calls, texts and voicemails on multiple devices using cellular or WiFi networks, with calls and texts taken from existing pay monthly bundles.

Buenos Aires, 21st May 2014: Telefónica today announced that TU Go, a free app allowing people to make and receive calls, texts and voicemail from their existing Telefónica number across multiple devices,  is now available in Argentina through the Movistar network.

Argentina is the second launch country for TU Go and builds upon the successful UK launch of the service in February 2013, where almost half a million O2 customers have downloaded the app to date.

TU Go gives Telefónica customers the ability to make and receive calls and messages on up to five devices - from tablets to desktops - in a seamless way through both cellular and WiFi networks, using their existing pay monthly  tariffs and bundles.

Ian Small, CEO Communications Services at Telefonica said:

"We are in the midst of a revolution when it comes to connectivity. Mobile traffic is increasing at an unstoppable pace, sparking the creation of new innovative services that are disrupting the way in which we communicate.

"TU Go is the perfect example of an application that reflects this changing landscape. It enables people to communicate in exactly the way they want to - breaking down the borders to seamless calls and messages on any device at no extra cost.

"TU Go's expansion into Argentina highlights the tremendous success of the service in the UK and proves that Telefonica is more than ready to not just compete, but lead, in this fast-moving connected world as we continue our mission to become a digital telco."

A customer using TU Go can call or message anybody, irrespective of the network they are on. And the person receiving the call does not need to have the TU Go app installed on their phone. When abroad TU GO users receive calls and messages at local price.

On top of this, because the service collects calls, texts and voicemail directly from the Telefonica network rather than from the customer's phone, address books as well as call, message and voicemail history can all be accessed on any device, meaning that the core functionality of a user's phone is available across devices.

Plans are being formed for further commercial launches in two to three other Telefónica countries during 2015.
