Today, the Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) announces that its Serbian subsidiary Vip mobile has acquired 2 x 5 MHz in the 800-MHz spectrum band for the minimum price of EUR 35 mn.

The newly acquired spectrum will support Vip mobile's LTE roll-out and high speed data services in rural areas, next to boosting data utilisation on smartphones. Vip mobile already holds 2 x 4.2 MHz in the low frequency band (below 1 GHz) as well as 2 x 45.0 MHz in the high frequency band (above 1 GHz).
