Telekom Malaysia Berhad : HYPPTV OFFERS MORE EXCITING SPORTS CONTENT WITH THE LAUNCH OF 4 NEW FOX SPORTS CHANNELS

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) via its award-winning IPTV service, HyppTV today launched its latest sports content offering with four (4) new FOX Sports channels. The 4 new channels, all in HD, are FOX Sports (HyppTV Channel 706), FOX Sports 2 (HyppTV Channel 707), FOX Sports 3 (HyppTV Channel 708) and FOX Sports News (HyppTV Channel 709).

The FOX Sports Network is the exclusive broadcaster of the most compelling live events from around the globe which include Grand Slam Tennis, Masters Golf, Formula One, MotoGP and top football action from Asia and Germany coupled with the FOX Sports News Channel, the first 24/7 sports news channel dedicated to Asian sports fans.

Jeremy Kung, Executive Vice President, New Media, TM and Vineet Puri, Vice President, Territory Head of FOX Networks Group (Malaysia) launched the new channels during HyppTV HyppCarnival tour stop here in Penang.

Commenting on HyppTV's latest channel addition, Jeremy said, 'We are delighted to offer FOX Sports channels as part of our sports content offering to our customers. This is in line with our continuous improvement effort to further diversify our HyppTV content offerings for our viewers. With the launch of these 4 new channels, our customers can now enjoy major world sporting events, including The Australian Tennis Open, Roland Garros, The PGA Championship, Formula 1 series, MotoGP series and many more.'

'HyppTV was the official IPTV broadcaster for the recently concluded Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where we received great response from our customers for our FREE channels offerings including on our HyppTV Everywhere mobile app. Throughout the Games, we offered a total of 12 channels, dedicated to the Games on our HyppSports HD channels. This proves our commitment and capabilities to deliver a variety of live, world class sporting events on HyppTV for our customers, even when on the move with HyppTV Everywhere mobile app,' he added.

HyppTV celebrates the new FOX Sports channels offering with a special FREE VIEWING promotion from now until 30 September 2016 to ALL customers including HyppTV Everywhere mobile app users. After the promotion period, HyppTV customers can continue to enjoy the channels as part of HyppTV Jumbo Pack at only RM60 per month or with HyppTV Sports Pack at only RM50 per month as well as via ala carte subscription at RM40 for FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Sports 3, all in HD. While FOX Sports News channel will be available for FREE to all customers, FOX Sports channels are also offered to HyppTV's SME and Hospitality Entertainment Solution customers.

That's not all. The launch of the 4 new channels was held in conjunction with HyppTV HyppCarnival nationwide tour, held for the first time in Penang from 26 until 28 August 2016. The carnival gives TM customers as well as the public in Penang the opportunity to experience the exclusive, world class entertainment content offered on HyppTV in a fun and interactive environment, complete with exciting booth activities as well as special celebrity and kid's characters appearances. Among the activities are FOX Sports's F1 car and MotoGP superbike simulators. There is also a special first time meet and greet session with FOX Sports presenters, Nikki Muller and Alex Yoong, who is also a former F1 driver while appearances by 'Puss in Boots' from 'The Adventures of Puss in Boots' animation series on Dreamworks HD (HyppTV Ch550), as well as 'Mr Bean' of Boomerang HD (HyppTV Ch555) made it a memorable occasion for the little ones.

Besides that, visitors of the HyppCarnival Tour in Penang can experience the catch-up of Rio 2016 Olympic Games in 4K quality at the event, a first in Malaysia to preview HyppTV's breakthrough innovation in TV broadcasting, together with its technology partner, Huawei. 4K technology which is four times the Full HD (1080p) standard that the normal TV or smartphone used today will soon be gracing the public's TV screens.
