Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) further strengthens its position as Malaysia's Convergence Champion when the Group today officially launched webe, ushering in a new era of mobility for TM Group. webe is TM Group's Mobility Centre of Excellence - extending the promise of 'Life and Business Made Easier' to the mobile space.

The official launch of webe was officiated by YB Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Salleh Said Keruak, Minister of Communications and Multimedia and Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM who is also Chairman of webe, together with Azizi A Hadi, Chief Executive Officer, webe.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani said, 'webe's launch extends the Group's promise of 'Life and Business Made Easier' into the mobile space and it perfectly fits into our converged suite of offerings. With webe, our customers can experience seamless connectivity experience. At the same time, we are taking the opportunity to redefine what mobility means by bringing to life a brand new end-to-end digital experience, from the inside-out. We believe that to be a truly digital brand, the organisation needs to behave like one and we have invested into making this happen. We turned it into our mission to help connect communities and make it easy to enjoy a digital lifestyle through everything we do. This has always been TM Group's vision as the nation's Convergence Champion, 'Making Life and Business Easier for a Better Malaysia.'

The launch of webe is the culmination of a two-year journey to co-create a company and brand that serves a higher purpose. Embracing the philosophy 'Start here. Go Anywhere', webe began by launching its crowdbacking platform, webe community alongside the new brand reveal earlier in April. The digital mobility services provider started rolling out its mobile service plan to selected, loyal webe (previously P1) and TM customers beginning 30 June. webe introduced one simple plan for as low as RM79 per month for as many calls, text and data usage.

For webe, mobility is defined as more than just the service plans; it is entirely the customers' experience that matters. The service aims to 'set consumers free' through unlimited domestic calls, SMS, and data without contracts to emphasise on simplicity and enriching customer experience.

'We call ourselves as a digital mobility services provider because we believe mobility means so much more than just data packages, speeds and coverage area. We feel that it is really limiting when you try to define mobility by the network you have - because it's so much more than that. This is the beginning of data liberation. In this day and age where we are heavy users and consumers of mobility services, the worries of data caps and quota are unnecessary baggage. The internet is a powerful and useful daily tool that we want the community to be able to enjoy and use freely with peace of mind,' elaborated Azizi A Hadi, Chief Executive Officer, webe.

'This is why we have one simple plan. As low as just RM79 for all the data, calls and SMSes you'll need. We've started rolling this out to loyal webe (previously P1) and TM customers, but let me assure you that this is only the starting point. Our vision for mobility is anchored on the customer experience. We don't want our customers to be thinking 'when will I run out of quota?' but rather to enjoy as much data as they need and find new ways of using data,' he concluded.

webe strives to deliver to consumers the best digital experience they will find. Customers' experience is designed to be digital end-to-end from the sign-up page to the delivery of the SIM pack. For those invited, purchasing a service plan is as simple as logging onto a website and having your SIM delivered to you the next day. Customer service is also always available online: 24-hours, seven days a week.

Public availability of webe's mobility service plan will follow soon and will be announced accordingly. For more information on webe and its offerings, visit www.webe.com.my.
