TM continues to unite the passion of Malaysians under one flag to ignite the spirit of the athletes to strive for excellence

The outstanding support given by TM Team Malaysia towards our national athletes in various sporting events for the past five (5) years is now officially recognised when TM Team Malaysia was announced as the 'Official Supporter of the National Athletes'. The recognition was presented by YB. Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports to Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM, at the 50 Anugerah Sukan Negara, held recently.

TM Team Malaysia is one of TM's flagship social initiatives in partnership with the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM). TM Team Malaysia provides a platform for all Malaysians to show their support towards the national athletes through both social media and on-ground presence. Through the national striped jersey which TM has now made available to the public, TM Team Malaysia has made their presence felt at every major games such as SEA Games, Commonwealth Games, Asia Games and even the Olympics.

Commenting on the milestone, Izlyn Ramli, Vice President, Group Brand and Communication, TM, said: 'As the nation's Convergence Champion, we are extremely honoured that TM Team Malaysia has been recognised as the 'Official Supporter of the National Athletes'. This further strengthens TM's commitment as a corporate organisation in support of sporting events - in line with the Government's aspiration of turning Malaysia into a sports-driven nation. Through our TM Team Malaysia initiative, all Malaysians can show their support to the nation's athletes and keep their competitive spirit burning via multiple platforms that we provide - be it on ground or on social media.'

TM is also the proud presenting sponsor of the Golden Jubilee celebration for Anugerah Sukan Negara which was attended by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Permaisuri Agong and the Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak. The sponsorship is part of TM's partnership with the NSC towards the development of sports industry in Malaysia. TM has been the presenting sponsor for Anugerah Sukan Negara since 2011.

For the first time in three (3) editions, Anugerah TM Team Malaysia, also known as the 'People's Choice Award', featured three (3) new categories - 'Favourite Athlete', 'Best Team' and 'Best Moment'. The winners were determined by an online voting system through Team Malaysia's official website www.teammalaysia.org.my.

TM Team Malaysia is a unique and significant initiative, which aims to bring together 30 million Malaysians under one banner to showcase their unwavering support towards our national athletes in their pursuit of excellence and to put Malaysia on the world sports map. TM will continue to play its role in Malaysian sports development and is committed to taking the sports sector to another level.
