Telekom Malaysia Berhad : TM UNVEILS ITS LUCKY ONE MILLIONTH UNIFI CUSTOMER!

Marks the occasion with an official donation ceremony to 115 NGOs nationwide

Following the announcement of UniFi hitting the 1,000,000 customer mark recently, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) today held a special event to celebrate the one millionth customer of the nation's premier broadband service - Ahmad Nor Sabu from Penang.

Continuing in the spirit of #KemeriahanSyawal, TM has also recently announced that it would not be hosting a Corporate Raya celebration this year. Instead, TM chose to repurpose the event funds amounting to RM300,000 in contribution to 15 worthy Islamic-based NGOs; in the names of its corporate guests and living up to its brand promise of 'Life Made Easier'.

Speaking at the momentous event, Imri Mokhtar, Executive Vice President, Consumer and SME, TM said, 'We are grateful that we recorded the significant milestone of 1,000,000 UniFi customers during the holy month of Ramadan, when we celebrated #KeajaibanRamadan at TM, which led to our #KeajaibanUniFi; as we call our 1 million UniFi customers the 'Miracle Million'. With that, I'm extremely excited to announce that Ahmad Nor Sabu of Penang is the lucky one millionth customer!'

'In that same spirit and in the name of our Miracle Million, we are donating a total of RM1,000,000 to 100 selected NGOs nationwide representing a variety of charitable causes. Meanwhile, Ahmad Nor as the 1,000,000th UniFi customer was also given the privilege to choose 10 out of the selected NGOs for TM to donate RM10,000 each under his name,' he added.

To commemorate this, Ahmad Nor was given the honour to present the mock cheques for the 10 NGOs of his choice to its representatives at the event today, in the presence of Dato' Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM; Datuk Bazlan Osman, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer, TM; and Imri Mokhtar.

'So, in conjunction with the Syawal celebration, we are happy to host Ahmad Nor and those 10 NGOs, in this joyous event today. This Raya was definitely a memorable one for Ahmad Nor, as he also received a special home make over with smart facilities and appliances, delivering a Smarter Living experience and making our promise of 'Life Made Easier', a reality for him and his loved ones,' Imri continued.

​Ahmad Nor, 50, hails from Kepala Batas, Penang. A senior project manager, he has been a loyal TM customer since 2000 starting with the subscription of a telephone line only. In 2015, Ahmad Nor signed up for Streamyx and little that he knew with his UniFi application in June recently, he was named the lucky 1,000,000th customer of UniFi! He was extremely excited when TM contacted him to inform of the great news, and even more so when he was told of the special home make over.

As a token of appreciation for the loyalty and support from all the million, and counting UniFi customers, TM has also opened up all channels on HyppTV and HyppTV Everywhere app from 19 June until 18 July 2017.

'We are grateful to see our UniFi customer base growing at a steady pace over the years and now, we have surpassed the 1,000,000 mark and counting!
