RasGas, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and
ExxonMobil, presented Tenaris with the "15 Years of Quality
and Safety" award on June 13, 2012 in a ceremony held at
Tenaris's mill in Campana, Argentina. Tenaris was chosen
out of more than 300 RasGas business partners. The Qatari
company is a main player in the global natural gas
industry, supplying and delivering LNG to an international
portfolio of customers.
The relationship between Tenaris and RasGas began in 1996
and continues today through the supply of high quality
casing and tubing with TenarisHydril premium connections,
as well as participation in all RasGas LNG trains and the
complex, offshore Barzan project in Qatar. To date,
RasGas has used more than 70,000 tons of Tenaris tubular
products in its operations.
"The quality of the products and the effectiveness of
Tenaris services have resulted in an excellent safety
performance throughout our 15-year history," said James
Davis, RasGas Well Management Department Manager, during
the event.
"We are very proud to receive the quality and safety
recognition from RasGas," said Paolo Rocca, Tenaris CEO.
"For Tenaris, quality means satisfying our customers' needs
in all phases of the project: starting with product
reliability during manufacturing, up to safe and efficient
running operations on-site. This is at the core of our
customer value proposition."
In addition to its products, Tenaris has provided on-site
support through the presence of resident engineers over the
past 10 years. These professionals have personally
supervised the inspection and installation of all Tenaris
OCTG for RasGas projects. They have also participated in
RasGas safety campaigns, actively contributing to uphold
safety on the rig.
"Thanks to their commitment, the rejection rate of
the Tenaris products that reach the drilling site is
minimal, almost zero percent," said Hatem Al sahli, RasGas
Quality Manager about the award. "We also appreciate
Tenaris's diligent attention to delivering on-time so that
our drilling schedule is not compromised," he added.
All Tenaris mills, commercial offices, research and
development centers, service centers and warehouses are
covered by one quality management system that is ISO 9001
certified. Tenaris's industrial operations are also
aligned with international standards such as ISO 14000,
OHSAS 18001 and with the Health and Safety principles
established by the World Steel Association. The company
issues an annual Health, Safety and Environment report to
show the results of its commitment to HSE policies.
In the Middle East, Tenaris serves its customers
through a commercial headquarters in Dubai, UAE; an office
in Doha, Qatar; and a threading facility and yard in
Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
